JOIN US/ATTEND PROTESTS—Another World Is Possible

PRACTICE TOGETHER — Since 2014 we have been gathering to practice our power through song and then present it to the community urging them to join in. If you are planning to attend an action, protest, march, or vigil, please consider NOENEMIES as a special opportunity to share songs and prepare to raise your voice.

We gather monthly at Capitol Heights Presbyterian Church, 1100 Fillmore St., Denver, usually from 2-3:30 pm. to practice together and to train song leaders (Please be one!!) who will show up at events to lead crowds in singing. We learn songs from each other and from the past. Please note: if you are deathly afraid of singing in public, you are not alone! In fact, you are most especially needed and welcome! Come ready to lose your fear.

ATTEND PROTESTS TO SING TRUTH TO POWER: We identify a meeting place, with a song leader or two, some kind of sound system, and lots of us urging those around us to join in—not to just watch or listen, but to sing from their hearts. Sometimes we pass out lyrics or have large signs with QR codes to lyrics or with the actual lyrics themselves.

We try to make miraculous noise as a form of good trouble.

We sing at and join weekly Monday vigil style protests at the Aurora GEO ICE detention facility. The detainees are able to hear us, as can Denver and Aurora neighbors. Major gatherings have occurred every Monday, focusing on immigrant rights, release of detainees, and oversight of the GEO-run facility.

NOENEMIES joins various other organizations to protest at the Colorado State Capitol and needs volunteers as action liaison, musicians, song leaders, and singers.
